Pastor Louis was raised in the home of a missionary/church planter, and knows that every Christian must live by faith. He spent 9 years traveling all over America, evangelizing and singing professional gospel music with a family group, Gospel Continental. The group recorded 9 albums. In 1975, he married Charlotte Johnson and they immediately became a music team. Louis was called to preach in May of 1976 and immediately began evangelizing from the pulpit.

In 1985 he graduated from what is now Louisiana Baptist Seminary in Shreveport, Louisiana with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with a minor in Psychology and Counseling. He pastored for five years in Shreveport while attending seminary. In 1992, he became pastor of what is now Crossgate Church of Robert, LA. He started his service with approximately 20 people on two acres of land. Today, Crossgate Church is now located on fourteen acres of land with two buildings totaling over 30,000 square feet.

Crossgate Church gives God the glory and the honor for having a mortgage free campus. In 2007, Crossgate Church sponsored a new church plant called Crossbrand Cowboy Church located in Loranger, Louisiana. Because of the success of Crossbrand Cowboy Church, many other cowboy church plants are in the making. Pastor Louis enjoys trail riding with his wife and family and competing in team roping and ranch rodeo.
