Cowboy Church

In 1982, when Randy Smith was named PRCA Rookie of the Year as a champion bull rider, little did he realize that God had a bigger plan for him. Later in Randy’s life, God would radically change him. After his salvation experience with Jesus Christ, Randy began to use his influence to help many young cowboys find Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

After Randy and his family joined Crossgate Church in Robert, Pastor Louis Husser began to challenge him to be the church planter for what is now Crossbrand Cowboy Church. Since it began in 2008, this church has become strong and self-supporting. With the help and support of the Northshore Baptist Association and the encouragement of Director of Missions, Dr. Lonnie Wascom, Crossbrand Cowboy Church has everything to offer. In addition to Bible Study and ministries for all ages, the church does an excellent job of reaching out to the cowboy culture.

Crossbrand gathers at 51438 Averette Rd, Loranger, LA, 70446.

In the spring of 2013, Crossgate planted two new Cowboy Churches. One is in Zachary, LA, called Crosscreek Cowboy Church. This church is sponsored by Crossgate and led by church planter Josh Morris.

Crosscreek meets at 5-D Arena on N. Plank Road in Zachary.

The second church, Right Turn Cowboy Church, planted in 2013 is in Des Moines, Iowa. This church meets every Sunday at the Right Turn Feed Store in the Desoto/Adel area. Led by Pastor Mike Stanley, the church is growing and reaching people from the Western culture. The worship leader is Danielle Husser, daughter of Pastor Louis and Charlotte Husser.

* Presently, we’re praying about planting churches in Franklinton, Albany, and Opelousas, LA (as well as McComb, MS).

If you are involved in the cowboy/horse/western culture and believe God wants a Cowboy church in your area, contact us. We are closely connected to American Fellowship of Cowboy Churches.

Pastor Louis says, ”It is our vision to plant ten Cowboy Churches before I hang up my spurs!”
