Our Mission
What is our purpose?
Crossgate Church is committed to the eternal truth of Christ. Our vision, a biblical community fulfilling the purpose of Christ. Our mission, to reach the lost, grow the church, and deliver the gospel to the corners of the earth.
Our Beliefs
Who is God?
God:
There is one true living God, existing in three eternal forms: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The members of the Trinity have distinct attributes, but exist without division in nature, essence, or being.
The Father:
The Father reigns in love and providential care over His universe, and creatures. He presides over all of humanity and its history, according to His purposes and grace. He is Father to all who choose Him through faith in His son Jesus Christ.
The Son:
Christ, the eternal Son of God. Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He honored the divine law in His personal obedience; in his sacrifice on the cross He redeemed mankind.
The Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He exalts Christ and convicts sin by His righteousness. He enlightens, and empowers the believer and the Church in and through worship, evangelism, and service.
Our Beliefs
The Basics
The Scriptures:
The Holy Bible is the divinely inspired word of God, His perfect revelation of Himself to man. The central theme of the Bible is the redemption of mankind through our lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is the instruction manual we need to live our lives well..
Man:
Man was created by God for God in his own image, and is the crowning jewel of all creation. Sin entered the world through man’s willful disobedience in the garden. Christ has atoned for the sin of man of the cross, He is the power of salvation to all those who come to him in repentance.
The Church:
A Church of our Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local body of baptized believers who are associated through faith and fellowship. The Church, also known as the body of Christ, includes all redeemed of all ages. The Church is commanded to proclaim the gospel to the ends of the earth.
The Call, Evangelism:
It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ, to make disciples of all nations and seek to lead the lost to Christ.
Last Times:
God will, in his own time, bring this world to its appropriate end. Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly. The dead will be raised, and Christ will judge men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell. The righteous will receive their reward and will dwell forever in heaven with the Lord.
Our Beliefs
A Christ Centered Life
Salvation:
Salvation is the redemtion of the whole man, offered freely to all who confess the lordship of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ made eternal atonement for all mankind, through the voluntary shedding of his blood.
Baptism & Communion
Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water; it is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in our crucified, buried, and risen, savior. Baptism symbolizes death to sin, the burial of the flesh, and resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience where followers memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second Coming.
Family:
God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman for a lifetime. The husband and wifew are of equal worth before God, having both been created in his image. The marriage models the way God relates to His people. Children are a blessing from the Lord, from the moment of conception.
